This week photo I darkroom students will work with filters and make exposures, using a photograph of their choosing, with filters 0-5+ (due Oct. 6) . We will also be discussing movement in photographs and how to achieve stop motion, blurred motion and panning.

Week 6

Photo I:
Inclass assignment:
Photo one is working on Depth of field and should print and turn in the assignment on Friday.

Producing more digital negatives to make prints with. We Are working on Duotone and Tritone Gum Prints.

Week 3

Photo I:
This week we start processing film. Students will learn to print on resin coated darkroom paper, use the enlargers and make contact sheets. Art II's first assignment is Texture and it will be due on Friday. Next Monday students are expected to have their finished roll of film for the Shape assignment and will be getting a daily grade for that.


Photo II & III
This week photo II & III will continue working on Gum Printing in class and should begin shooting the open assignment due for critique on the 14th. On Tuesday we will finish our critique session from Friday over the ABC assignment and talk about additive lighting techniques. All work for their open assignment critique should be saved to the server before leaving school on the 11th.

Week 22

Photo I:
This week is Open 8 for Photo I. Next week we will be working on photographs for the assignment Environmental Self Portrait.

Photo II:
This week Photo II&III are working on a technique called High Dynamic Range. For more examples and information you can go to the photomatix website. Next week the assignment is Urban Change which revolves around the changing Dallas Architecture and especially areas such as Victory Park and the Downtown area. These should not be photos of construction but more about the changes Dallas is currently going through in terms of old architecture verses new.

Week 20

No School Monday.

In-class assignment: there are two retouching assignments that will be due on Friday. Go to the drobo server and find the images in the folder called retouch me.
